Components
Hydrogen gas testing is essential to verify the safety and reliability of components.
Air Liquide CTE réalise des tests d’usage en hydrogène.
Effect of hydrogen on components
Hydrogen is a gas that is prone to leakage.
It easily penetrates porous materials and can escape from equipment.
Highly flammable, this gas can cause fires or explosions.
Hence the need for hydrogen tests to evaluate the resistance of components : isolation valves, connecting elements, seals, hoses, etc.
What do the hydrogen usage tests involve?
We offer hydrogen gas endurance tests.
The components are subjected to opening/closing cycles under pressure and the hoses are subjected to pressure.
- Several thousand cycles are carried out.
- Up to a test pressure of 1,000 bar.
After endurance testing, we check that the component has kept its integrity and tightness.
Our failure analysis activities
Oxygen failures, mechanical failures, lifetime of methane steam reformer tubes, etc.
